prostate enlargement

Enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a result of an increased number of prostate cells, which can lead to formation of large, fairly discrete nodules thay may compress the urethral canal to cause partial, or sometimes virtually complete, obstruction of the urethr.  This blockage can interfere with the normal flow of urine and lead to symptoms including: difficulty urinating, diminished flow of urine,  frequent urination, painful urination, increased risk of urinary tract infections, and urine retention.
